things to keep in mind

Before you decide if the TheraPro Healing Pads are right for you, here are a few important things to keep in mind:

🔹 The materials are soft, flexible, and non-toxic, but detailed specs aren’t available.

🔹 There’s no full-body mat option.

🔹 While priced competitively, the pads are still a notable investment.

🔹 Some users find the nine frequency modes tricky to navigate without clear info on Gauss or hertz specifications.

🔹 A short adjustment period might be needed to get used to the sensations and intensity of PEMF therapy.

🔹 Therasage is still a relatively newer name in the PEMF and TENS space, so it might feel less familiar to some.

🔹 Some Therasage products, including the TheraPro Pads, qualify for FSA or HSA reimbursement. Check with your provider. Also an LMN might be needed for certain items.

Therapro pad Therapies & Benefits

The TheraPro Pads combine 7 healing therapies that work together to support pain relief, recovery, and overall wellness. Here’s a quick look at what each therapy offers.

PEMF THERAPY

PEMF technology helps your body heal at the cellular level by regenerating damaged cells and increasing microcirculation. This supports faster muscle repair, reduces inflammation, eases soreness, and aids recovery from chronic pain and injuries [2]. This technology has been FDA approved since 1976 for the treatment of nonunion fractures, post operative pain, edema, osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis and chronic wounds [3].

Red Light therapy

This therapy uses visible red light combined with near-infrared light to gently warm the skin, similar to sunlight but without harmful UV rays. It helps kickstart the healing process in your skin and tissues at the cellular level [4].

Curious about how red light therapy actually works? We have a separate blog post that breaks it all down in a simple, science-backed way and is worth a read

Gemstone heat therapy (chrystal Therapy)

The pads contain the following healing crystals:

🔹 Amethyst: Emits far-infrared rays and negative ions when heated; promotes stress relief, detoxification, restful sleep, and soothes the nervous system.

🔹 Jade: Retains heat well; stabilizes and harmonizes body energies; relieves muscle and joint pain.

🔹 Black Tourmaline: Produces high levels of negative ions and far-infrared rays; supports circulation and detoxification; reduces stress.

🔹 Shungite: Offers anti-inflammatory benefits; promotes emotional balance; protects against electromagnetic radiation (EMF).

🔹 Rose Quartz: May support emotional healing and calm.

Negative Ions therapy

When the gemstones heat up, they release negative ions that enter your body and trigger beneficial biochemical reactions. These ions can improve mood, increase energy, and promote a sense of happiness [5]. On a deeper level, they support cellular health, may slow aging, and help reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Plus, negative ions support overall well-being and improve the air quality around you.

far Infrared therapy

The far-infrared wavelengths penetrate deep into your skin tissues and Increase core temperature: blood vessels dilate, circulation goes up which supports your body's natural detox process [6].

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)

TENS therapy provides non-invasive, short-term pain relief by sending electrical impulses that block pain signals to the brain [7]. It’s often used to manage neurological pain.

Research shows that interferential current, a medium-frequency electrical stimulation, can reduce shoulder pain in patients with hemiplegia, which is paralysis on one side of the body. A recent meta-analysis (2023) found moderate evidence that TENS reduces pain in adults without serious side effects compared to placebo [8].

The TheraPro system uses two small, separate TENS pads for targeted, immediate relief where it’s needed most.

EMF Remediation

Therasage takes EMF seriously. EMF reduction is one of the seven core features in the TheraPro Pad, not as a therapy on its own, but positioned as foundational support. The idea is that by reducing EMF interference, the body is in a better state to respond to other functions like PEMF and far-infrared.

The mat includes built-in tech for what they call EMF “remediation,” “harmonizing,” and “shielding,” though the mechanism isn’t clearly explained. No physical shielding materials are listed, and the language points to bio-energetic or frequency-based methods, which are debated and not independently verified. Learn about EMF safety in our blog post: 'Should I Worry About EMF In Sauna?'

PEMF Settings

The TheraPro Pads offer PEMF settings that improve sleep with Delta Waves and increase alertness with Beta Brain Waves:

🔹 PEMF Coils: The regular pad has 4 coils, while the larger version includes 6 for broader coverage.

🔹 Frequency Range: Select from 9 levels, reaching up to 64 Hz (significantly higher than the typical 1–30 Hz range). The device features an automatic shutoff after 30 minutes of use. Additionally, a cyclic mode is available, which automatically cycles through all frequencies to provide varied stimulation. PEMF therapy programs are listed below.

🔹 PEMF Intensity: maximum intensity reaching 1.1Gauss (1100 mg).  👉 PEMF gauss

🔹 Sine and Square Waveforms: Sine waves stimulate cells in a smooth, continuous pattern that supports basic communication between them. Square waves hit with sharper, more defined signals that can be useful for managing pain or triggering tissue repair. 👉 PEMF waveforms

🔹 Pulse Duration: 3 drop-off settings let you customize how quickly the pulse intensity fades, tailoring therapy to your needs.

🔹 No-Flicker Technology: Ensures a smooth, stable experience with a flicker rate below 0.1%.

9 preset PEMF programs

  • P1 – 3Hz (Delta Waves): Supports deep sleep
  • P2 – 8Hz (Schumann Resonance): Matches Earth’s natural frequency; promotes healing, improves circulation, and lowers inflammation
  • P3 – 10Hz (Alpha Waves): Reduces stress and anxiety; supports calm focus
  • P4 – 25Hz (Beta Waves): Promotes alertness and concentration
  • P5 – 40Hz (Gamma Waves): Linked to memory and cognitive function
  • P6 – 48Hz: Healing, circulation, and pain relief – Level 1
  • P7 – 56Hz: Healing, circulation, and pain relief – Level 2
  • P8 – 64Hz: Healing, circulation, and pain relief – Level 3
  • P9 – Randomized (1–2 sec shifts): Cycles through all frequencies for a blended effect

Far Infrared

Gemstones like Amethyst and Tourmaline conduct infrared heat across wavelengths from near to far infrared (700 nm to 14 µm). The pad’s internal temperature ranges from 86°F to 158°F (10°C to 70°C), but the surface is typically 40 to 50°F (22 to 28°C) cooler. The warmth feels comforting and deep, not hot or overwhelming like a sauna.

Photon Led Lights (red light therapy)

The built-in LED lights emit red light at a wavelength of 663 nm. The lights operate on a 120-minute cycle with automatic shutoff.

Final Thoughts on the TheraPro Pads

The Therasage TheraPro Healing Pads bring together TENS therapy and infrared PEMF tech for pain relief and recovery.

While they don’t have a full-body mat option yet, the pads are really designed with portability in mind. The straps make it super easy to attach them to your car seat, office chair, or wherever you like to relax, so you can use them at home or on the go without any hassle.

What stands out to us in this price range is the inclusion of advanced PEMF features, like sine and square waveforms at 1100 mG intensity, usually found only in more expensive products.

And when pain flares up, it’s really helpful to have the TENS pads close. You can use them on their own or together with the mat when you need quick, targeted relief.

The TheraPro Pads from Therasage really seem to strike a good balance between being easy to use and offering serious portable healing tech.
